what if money were not an absolute number at all, but an aggregate value. Instead of everything being based on the number, it would be based on a relative quantity based on your ‘value’, as dictated by the equally fictitious perfect world of rational people. Then the amount of influence an entity could have over its surroundings would be, at least, tempered. It would do the unsolvable job of keeping the capitalist system from getting out of control, while keeping every ‘level’ of the hierarchy intact. Jeff Bezos would still be number one and have the most individual power and still have incentive to continue, lest he fall into 2nd place. But it wouldn’t look so much like a mathematical mistake!
